The Yonex Astrox 7 DG is a head-heavy attacking racket built on the Rotational Generator System with Yonex’s Durable Grade (DG) frame construction. The DG frame is rated to handle higher string tension without distortion, which is why the 7 DG holds up better than the standard Astrox 7 for players who restring frequently or use stiffer strings.
The Aero+Box frame profile gives you a solid hitting feel on smashes while keeping swing speed quick enough for mid-court drives and defensive clears. Yonex specifies a 7.1% increase in smash power and a 2.3 degree steeper smash angle versus the previous generation, with a 10mm longer shaft for additional reach.
Who the Astrox 7 DG is for
This racket suits intermediate to advanced players who play an attacking singles or rear-court doubles role and want a durable frame for high-tension stringing. If you break frames at the T-joint or pull strings out of the grommets at 26+ lbs, the DG construction is worth the upgrade over the regular Astrox 7.

How it compares to other Astrox DG rackets
The 7 DG sits in the middle of the Astrox DG line. The Astrox 3 DG is lighter and more control-oriented for beginners. The Astrox 10 DG is heavier (3U) and more attack-focused for stronger players. The 7 DG is the practical pick for club-level attackers who want power without the wrist load of a 3U frame.
